NFS BATTLES FAQ (Updated 7/18/23)
WHY CAN'T I CHALLENGE SOMEONE?
There are a few things you must do before you can challenge other racers:
- (highly recommended) Customize your profile name.
- (required) Enter your EA ID in your profile settings. This is how others will contact you in game to party up for the race.
- (required) Join the Leaderboard you want to compete in. Leaderboards>Join Leaderboard. Then Complete your placement race for that leaderboard and enter it.
- (required) Flip your Ready to Race switch located in the top left corner of the screen to READY.
Now you will be able to challenge any racers who are also "READY" within your rank.
WHAT DO I DO IF SOMEONE IS RAMMING OR CHEATING DURING A BATTLE?
- Record a clip of the battle or take a screenshot as evidence.
- Finish the battle without breaking rules yourself.
- Report that you won the battle on NFS Battles. If the other player reports that they won, you will have the opportunity to submit your proof that they broke a rule.
- Submit proof.
- Wait for NFS Battles Staff to reach out to you with a decision.
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO ELIMINATE BOOSTING/CHEATING?
There is no foolproof way to eliminate it from happening but there are many systems in place to limit it to the bare minimum.
- The first is the placement system itself. When a player enters their placement time, they are placed into a rank with the minimum amount of rep required for that rank plus 10 rep. For example, the minimum required for platinum is 450 rep. If a player's placement time is fast enough to rank them in Platinum, they will start at 460 rep. And when a battle is lost, the loser loses between 3 and 5 rep...So if someone's intent was to boost, the players who they are using to help them boost would De-rank into gold and would not be able to help boost them any longer because you can only challenge people within your rank.
- The second is the Rep points system. When a player who is higher on the leaderboard battles a player lower on the leaderboard, and wins, that player is rewarded only 3 rep. So the climb to the top would be slower when you are just boosting off friends who are going to be lower on the leaderboard (because you keep beating them).
- The third is the public stats. Stats on NFS Battles are visible to all which means that if there accounts who are being used for boosting purposes, it will be very visible to everyone that the account is not a real account. The profile will show lots of losses in a row to the same person. It will be obvious to NFS Battles staff who have an even deeper look at the back end of the site.
- Lastly the Report Player system. If cheating or boosting in suspected, any player may report another player by going to that player's profile, scrolling to the bottom and clicking the report player button and filling out the information.
HOW DO YOU STOP SOMEONE FROM LYING ON THEIR PLACEMENT TIMES?
Again, there is no foolproof way to stop it from happening completely however we have a couple systems in place to discourage it and to penalize the players who do it.
- First, if a player lies about their placement matches they will be placed in a rank they do not belong in which means their opponents will be much better than them and they will likely have a hard time advancing and will just get de-ranked right away by losing.
- Second, NFS Battles performs random placement checks throughout the season to ensure the integrity of the ranks. If a player is chosen for a random placement check and cannot provide proof of their placement time, they will be de-ranked immediately.
- Third, a player's entire goal is to climb the leaderboard and claim the seasonal stickers as the rewards and trophies for their efforts. Players who lie about their placement times may know that they are in the wrong rank which means they will be likely to lose their battles which would subject them to de-ranking, so they may just enter placement results and then go inactive. Well, players are required to complete at least 5 battles during a season in order to earn their seasonal sticker. So those players would have gained nothing and will be sitting at the bottom of whatever rank they "placed" into.
Penalties for lying on placements or not being able to provide proof of placement include: de-ranking, suspension and lifetime bans from NFS Battles.

WHY CAN'T I ARRANGE THE STICKERS ON MY PROFILE WALL?
Currently, stickers are automatically placed on your wall. Our goal is to add the ability to select and arrange your stickers how you want them in future updates of NFS Battles.
I DONATED. HOW DO I CLAIM MY STICKERS?
Donation stickers are manually assigned to each player who donates. This process is usually done within 24 hours however it may take longer depending on our staff's current workload.
